Oh my gosh! I joined a RR!!

Hard to believe, but I actually did join a round robin! Years ago, I used to be in round robins. I used to coordinate them, and at one point I was in several at a time. It got to be overwhelming. And, then came the disappointments - the lost projects, the stitchers that dropped off the face of the earth, the damaged projects, the ones with poor stitching on them.... Ugh. I quit. I mean I really quit! But... then I saw Barb's blog entries about the Neighborhood RR she had joined. I remembered seeing the website about this type of RR a year or so ago and loved it. Well, Barb was able to find me a slot in the group! OK... now to get my thoughts together and get started. Luckily, the first mailing is not until March, and we get three months on each project before the next mailing. Whew! I can easily make that schedule without messing up my other stitching much.... So, I ordered up a fat half of Autumn Fields belfast and while I am waiting for that to come in I need to start thinking about my house that I will stitch on my own... I want to do houses with gardens... and each to have a cat :-) Barb set up a blog for the group - in case you want to see it: Our Neighborhood of Make Believe.
Back to working on Mermaids of the Deep Blue tonight :-) The first mermaid has her hair now. Yep, there are lots of gaps in it, what is going on, you wonder? Those gaps will all be beads... lots and lots of beads on this project!! Love it!

The "stash dieter" has a stash report today.... Um, OK, I got Rose Cottage by Country Cottage Needleworks (I have been eyeing this one - "Home is where your flowers grow" - that's me, right??) and the Crescent Colours floss it calls for.... The Monkey Sampler by Midsummer Night Designs ("Monkeys steal my underwear at night" - who could resist that? I will definitely change this to more muted colors though)... Today's Special by Crossed Wing Collection... another Tacky BOB (because I have soooo many projects getting ready for beading)... and two packs of my favorite Size 28 Tapestry Petites....

And... Mirabilia just keeps putting out more pretties (so fast!). Well, now it is The Stargazer... yep, I will be receiving my copy soon too - she looks like a "must stitch" yet again!!

OK, one New Englander stitcher wrote that she fears I jinxed the weather yesterday. Well... I don't think I did, but we are about to get colder weather next week, even some snow... but it wasn't me! It was Mike! He went and got his Corvette out of storage today because it has been spring-like here. He jinxed the weather - and he knows it too!!

Stitched on today: Mermaids of the Deep Blue

Congradulations on finding a Round Robin you're interested in again :) I've enjoyed a few round robins and now just have a steady group that's on our second round robin, very relaxed schedule which is nice :)

Don't you just love the Monkey Sampler? I had planned to start it this month, but don't have a piece of fabric the correct size. I loved it the minute I saw it. But I tend lean towards the quirkier(is that a word?) designs these days. Your mermaids are beautiful.

your Mermaid looks lovely as always Carol. I am glad you enjoy stitching them. Thanks for sharing your stash with us and thoroughly enabling me. I am going to have to search for that Monkey Sampler. Allen has some kind of wierd addiction to monkeys that he picked up in college. And who can resist those beautiful Mirabilia pieces. Nora is amazing!!

Carol, your stash is great. I'm going and ordering the Rose Pillow by Country Cottage too. And you're right, how can we resist?
