Taking the plunge again...

After spending most of the day attending a dance recital for my nieces Caitlin and Erin, and then off with my family to a steakhouse for a bit of fun, I was able to then spend a little bit of time this evening working on Part 9 of MTM. Taking the plunge again - it feels like I was only just working on Part 8 of this project :-) Oh well, nearing the end now and going to hold my head up and get through it. This is put away now until Wednesday due to SAL commitments. I figure that Judi is probably about half done with this part already, and by the time I pick it up again on Wednesday she will be completely done. I think she stitches this one in her sleep... But I will get mine done this month too, but at my own pace with tons of other projects also getting their fair share of attention.

There have been some questions about my Women of the Mayflower. So, I will answer them here. Anne asked what fabric I am using - it is a Silweaver 36 ct Edinburgh Solo... Leslie asked about the threads - yes, I am using the Olde Willow Stitchery floss that is called for in the chart, but mine appear to be lighter than those in the model, except for the boat... that color is much darker. Such is how it goes with hand dyed threads, right?

Well, maybe there will be photos from today's family event. Mike took some, and I just have to go through them and see if they are useable LOL!!

Oh - thanks to those who wished Ryan Newman luck today - I have not watched the recording of the race, but according to the website he came in 14th :-( Not a good season for Ryan this year...

LOL not nearly half way, I think you have done even more than me yesterday. I have done the first house and am stitching on the second. I couldn't start earlier than yesterday as I wasn't home all weekend. So I won;t be finished wednesday, I am not that fast. Hope to have finished it someday next week, but not much stitching time here.

It's looking lovely Carol. I admire your perseverance on this one, I think I'd have given up, or still be stitching the first row of houses at this stage.

It may seem a bit tedious, but it's the last section of the town and then you'll be much closer to the finish line. Do you imagine little townspeople while you're stitching? :)

Wow, those are some amazing progress pictures, Carol!!! I'll be curious to see how my fibers match up against the picture when I start WotM. Hand/over dyed fibers are such a shot in the dark, huh?

Hey, I received your packet today when we got home from our weekend and Niek is really excited about this project! Thanks so very much!!

Carol, your MTM looks just incredible. I would love to see it in person . . . maybe next time we meet up you could bring it?

Thanks for the information on Women of the Mayflower. I may just be adding this one to my stash.

It was so nice to see you the other day. I would love to get together again.

Wow, this is such a gorgeous piece. And since I'm addicted to stitching houses I love all those little houses for the border. Someday I hope to stitch it.

Well compared to past years Ryan may not be doing well but at least his career is far from being over. Ryan is just going through a rough year (I'd blame his team mate) but things will turn around for him. My driver (Michael Waltrip) is stuck in no mans land and I've just about given up all hope of seeing him finish on the lead lap let alone win a race (it's not like he had much of a chance anyway after leaving DEI).

You are working on some beautiful projects, and while I've never commented before, I do look forward to your updates, especially on MTM.

Your dedication to your rotation just amazes me, Carol! I would love to be able to keep to one, but rotations just don't seem to suit me at this point in my life. Perhaps one day they will! :D
