In the Clouds

It's Monday, it's Kingdom Sampler SAL night.... I got most of the clouds done tonight. There are two small ones left to do on the right side, but I need to swap out to new contact lenses tomorrow, these are cloudy (right at the scheduled two week point for disposables... funny how that always works that way!). So, I didn't work on anymore white and gray. Instead I worked on the alphabet for a little while until quitting time. I also did some more of the brown border. I really cannot see much of the shading in the clouds, which are DMC 762 and white... too subtle to really make out, that is for sure. We are very close to done now.

My entry title is also fitting for the beautiful belfast linen I received today from Sugar Maple Fabrics' Treat of the Month (aka Fabric of the Month) - In The Clouds :-) This is super pretty and I cannot wait to start thinking of what chart is going to look just perfect on it! Thanks Mindy!

And... a small order from Stitching Bits & Bobs today! I think I may have finally found the right memorial sampler to stitch on behalf of my father. This is a new release by Midsummer Night Designs. I just want to figure out how to add "Husband of...." along with "Father of....", and then give it to my mom. It is actually charted for 40 ct linen. I love how designers are getting more into the 40 ct linen lately! And, I also got Hillside Samplings' Quaker Diamond... I have been coveting this forever. I will have to make sure to pick up the R&R linen next time I am at my LNS!

Stitched on today: Kingdom Sampler

Wow, almost done! You'll be happy dancing in no time. :)

I didn't realize that Mindy was doing a monthly club again, but I don't really need more fabric right now, so I shouldn't entertain any possiblities there. ;)

I'm glad that you found the right memorial sampler for your father. For stitchers, I think it's important that we memorialize our loved ones and we have such an incredible, beautiful way of being able to do so. We are truly lucky!

Great progress! I still didn't get to the clouds this week, we were watching movies so I stuck to the border so I didn't have to look at a pattern. Hopefully next week I can get that one big cloud done!

What wonderful goodies!! And the Kingdom Sampler is looking great.

I have a little Lanarte kit that I've been meaning to do as a memorial for my grandad...but I screwed up when I started it (it is supposed to be half-stitches over 1, and I did full crosses over 2 - duh), and now I have to decide whether to start it over according to the instructions, or continue and make it a bigger piece.

Pretty fabric! Can't wait to see what lovely you choose to stitch on it. The Memorial Sampler is so nice - I think you've made a good choice there. And you are just cruising along on Kingdom Sampler - it looks fantastic!

Carol, Kingdom Sampler looks awesome. You'll have that finished in no time at all. I love the FOTM, very pretty. I was on the Midsummer NIght Dreams blog the other day and saw that memorial. It is so lovely. The poem is very special. Ann.

The Kingdom Sampler is really coming along. I am so enjoying watching this being stitched. I love the material you received as well. The color is beautiful. I like the memorial you chose for your father. I hope stitching it will be very enjoyable for you.
Happy Stitching!

When you're that close to the end do you not find it tempting to sprint for the finish line???
