I got an email from Anne tonight letting me know that my birthday gifts for her have arrived safely - whew! Always worry when they travel so far! This was a first for me - I made her a little needlework kit out of an Altoid tin. I put magnets inside on the top and bottom (Mike has magnetic business cards, boy did they come in handy here!) and put needles in the top and a wee pair of scissors in the bottom (***Joann's sells their own line of scissors and they fit nicely into an Altoid tin). Anne seems to be thrilled with my effort, and see her blog for a better photo - it looks a bit wonky here (which surprised me) but looks right in her photo :-)

Down East Tin Topper

Dirty Belfast Linen

Stitched 2/2/07

And, here is a scan of that Virginia's Purse by The Cat's Whiskers that I have been raving about in the new (April 2007) issue of Just Cross Stitch - now, isn't this a beauty??!!

I love the little purse in the JCS mag too...but I've put it on hold...I'm trying to work out a rotation of sorts...any help from your side on how you do it?

Anne is definitely doing cartwheels around the house - I adore my little tin topper!! :D BTW, if the 'In the Clouds' Lugana hasn't gone already, I'd love to buy that from you, as I have some birdie charts that would be beautiful on it ... I'll send you a separate email soon! :D

Your HOHRH is looking fantastic. You are really making good progress on it. I love the tin you made for Anne. When I was beading my wedding purse, I would carry an Altoid tin with my beads in it, my beading needle, nymo thread, and my scissors. It all fit perfectly!

WOW, HoHRH is moving along!

Will be in contact with you tonight :)

BTW-are you having as much trouble with blogger as I am??? Are you still having to sign in each time??

Beautiful work on the tin Carol! It's so cute!

Thank you for showing the pic of the purse. I am a subscriber to JCS but it comes on the slow boat and I often don't get it till 3 months after it's issue. Case in point - I actually got the January issue before the November/December issue! Now I have something to look forward too!
