My first exchange has been received :-)

I just saw in LilChefKimi's blog that she has received the biscornu that I sent her for the biscornu exchange on the FGBB - I am sooo glad she likes it! I really wanted to keep this one:

Debi's Roses Biscornu

Chatelaine

28 ct Black Jobelan

DMC floss, Kreinik #4 braid, Mill Hill beads

Stitched 3/17/07 - 3/29/07

I almost finished Part 4 of Bordeaux Sampler tonight... I just have some little over one grapes to stitch on either side of "from grapes so red", and then it is finished. Next week, for sure! Now I need to remember to print out Part 5 for next week. The start to tonight's stitching was a bit of an adventure for me. Our satellite TV was giving us problems tonight (probably because we are in the midst of a spring snow storm), and I ended up going upstairs to one of the spare bedrooms to stitch since I wanted to watch the baseball game. I had to do over one stitching on 40 ct without my Ott-Lite. Yikes! The lamp in that bedroom is a tiny one... I was so glad when Mike finished working and was able to reset the satellite...whew, that was one way to truly appreciate my Ott-Lite!

I heard from Katrina just now that she has received the little birthday gift that I made for her - you are welcome Katrina - and welcome home from your trip too - I hope you had fun! Did you get to any good LNS's?? ...This was another of the freebies I stitched last month.

French Collection Fob

Passione Ricamo

36 ct Cream Edinburgh Linen

DMC Color Variations - Lavender Fields

Stitched 3/22/07 - 3/24/07

A few have asked what fabric and fibers I am using for Paradigm Lost, so I figured I would answer here. I am using Silkweaver's 40 ct Purely Primitive linen with Vikki Clayton's Konini silk :-)

Happy Birthday Beau - he is officially ten years old today!!

Stitched on today: Finished a gift, started a gift, and Bordeaux Sampler

The biscornu is gorgeous, the colors are wonderful on that black, and the little button on it is perfect. Between that and the fob you outdid yourself this time.

I can't believe you tried to do over one on Bordeaux without your ott light, glad Mike finished up and you could get back to it. Happy bithday to Beau, what special treat is planned?

The biscornu you sent is stunning, Carol! I don't know if I could've parted with it if I'd stitched something that gorgeous!!

Oh wow - that is one of the most gorgeous biscornus I've ever seen to date ... seriously!!! WOW!!! It's no wonder you didn't want to give it away ... what a stunner :D And your latest fob is scrummy too :) Lucky you managing to get all those individual over-one grapes out of the way ... I've been so tempted to drag my thread over the back to get them done quicker ;) It's the one part of band 4 I really hate doing ... just think soon you can move on to part 5, which looks like so much more fun! ;D

I was just oggling that biscornu yesterday, when kiwi stitcher gave a link to it where you'd posted a forum pic (I forget which forum.....there's just tooooo many, lol) and I didn't realise that you were 'the' Carol who had stitched it! It was so pretty, it did cross my mind that it could be you but I wasn't sure.

Thanks for the info on PL's fabric!

Gorgeous biscornu. I love it on the black, and the rose button in the center is perfect! I would have been cross-eyed trying to do over one on 40-count with no good light!

Add me to the list of fans for this gorgeous biscornu. It really is quite stunning. I've been saving the Chatelaine freebies for someday. I don't know which I'll choose to do first but I hope mine turns out as beautiful as yours did. Congratulations!!

Beautiful, beautiful biscornu Carol! It would have been so difficult to part with it... Now, you'll have to stitch another for yourself... :-) And I love the fob you stitched for Katrina... lovely shades of lavender... Such lovely and thoughtful gifts! :-)

Your Sampler is coming along Beautifully!!! 40ct over one without your Ott-Lite... Yikes!

And Happy Belated Birthday to Beau... he's such a Sweetie! :-)

Carol, History of Debi's Roses: That little biscornu pattern was named and given to me by Martina in her early years as a designer and friend. Then, she put it along with the others on her site as freebies. The Kathy's Violets is for Kathy of European XS. It's a delight to see that you stitched it so beautifully! I was the first to invite her to the USA to meet her stitching "groupies" at a "Stitching Bee" in Sturbridge, MA, in 2002.

WOW! Have you room for one more comment??? Not that I have any more awesome things to add to what is already posted ...

Your Biscournu is so unique & lovely. Nice choice for the background color [black evenweave] to showcase the fibers. Totally awesome & beautiful.

Bordeaux looks great! Moving quickly to the end of your sampler.

Lavender Fields is a beautiful fiber. Nice job on your fob!

WOW Carol! I saw your biscornu on the Chatelaine board, but didn't realize that it was your creation. Oh my gosh, it's incredible! Way to go. :)

Your black biscornu is exquisite. I would love to know which button company made the gold rose. It's perfect for this design.
