Irises

It's Monday, so it's Houses of Hawk Run Hollow time again... and I am still doing all those bricks on House 1. I finished the orangey ones, and now I have lots of the ecru to do to fill them in. I had seen that there was a page of corrections on CHS' website for this pattern... I saw it many times, but forgot all about it as I was stitching along. Sue thoughtfully emailed me that correction page over the weekend (thank you Sue - with all of the events of the past weekend, I had not yet had a chance to email you to thank you). And I looked at it tonight as I picked this up again to stitch... well, too late! My roof is Pond Pine, but should be Walnut. The green under the house is Hunter, but should be Leaf (I am using a Vikki Clayton conversion)... but I am not going to pull them out. It took far too long to put those stitches in there. And yet, I like it how it is! LOL!

Harmien has received her little birthday gift from me, so I can share that tonight too. She recieved it only one day after her birthday, so kudos to the postal service once again! I stitched a Prairie Schooler fob with carnations on it as Harmien and I share a strong love for gardening. And, Harmien has proven to be such a lovely, stable person who has been a sweet influence in my life in recent weeks (amongst a few others). I am glad you like it Harmien! And, thank you to Kajsa for the chart too :-)

Carnations Fob
Prairie Schooler
40 ct lambswool linen, DMC floss
Stitched 5/5/07 - 5/7/07

And, here are a couple of dwarf standard irises blooming in my garden today :-)

Thanks for all the well wishes for Lily. She is still limping a bit, but we cannot keep her off of her feet. She sleeps (along with Gig and Ava) between Mike and I on our heated mattress pad at night, and I am sure that helps her. She is grateful, I am sure, for all the well wishes.

It looks like Grandpa's funeral will be Friday morning. My uncle's funeral was over the weekend in California. It was a small service, as he had been divorced out of the family for some several years now. My cousins just got back in from the trip.

I almost forgot! I found this link for a super cute biscornu freebie - here - enjoy!!

Stitched on today: Started Michelle's Just Nan RR (I am a fill in stitcher to help her fill her fabric), and Houses of Hawk Run Hollow

Looks like you are making progress on HOHRH. That green shade does really work out well for the roof.

I can't believe that you already stitched that freebie up, it looks great.

The fob you made for Harmien is very pretty. So are the irises!
I do hope Lily's limp will get better.

Don't worry about the colors being wrong in HoHRH that's what makes it YOUR piece. :) I always say a piece is never 'mine' till I make some kind of mistake on it that has to stay.

What a lovely fob for Harmien. Very Pretty.

Gorgeous fob for Harmien and it sounds very fitting for her ( I do love all of your fobs and biscornus). So sorry to hear about Mike's Grandfather. Nice to see your garden flowers again, spring really is here!

I think the colours of your house look just fine how they are and it will make it a little more individual :-)

Hope your cats leg is better today.

Hi Carol,

What beautiful flowers! You shure have a green thumb. =)

I got the fabby today. Thank you so much. It seemed like the post office was really curious about it, they delivered it opened. Phew! I'm glad they don't cross stitch. lol

You are a gifting machine, Carol! And each one just right. :D

Love seeing your irises! I'm afraid there will be no blooms this year on the set you sent me. I'm thinking that they were planted a bit too late last fall and didn't have enough time to root in. But they are alive and I'm full of hope for some iris beauty next year! :D
