Exchanges Update

This morning I was very lucky, and I received the A Trip Around the World exchange from Nadine. Nadine lives in France, and she went with a French Country theme for me :-) She stitched this sweet Isabelle Vautier design and put it in a wooden chicken frame - and sent me some kitchen linens to help convert my kitchen to a french country theme! And... some yummy red fibers too (my favorites!) - thanks Nadine!!

And on the other side of an exchange, I heard tonight that Michelle received the Garden Theme Exchange from the SBEBB that I sent to her.... to see the entire contents of the exchange, you can peek in her blog :-) I took a classy photo of my work for you... sitting in my spring cactus, complete with cat toy in the background - LOL...
Spring Blossoms
Brightneedle
28 ct Antique White Cashel Linen, DMC Floss
Stiched 1-over-1
Stitched 5/25/07 - 5/27/07

I skipped over stitching And A Forest Grew tonight, and I put more time in on Barbara's Neighborhood Round Robin. It is much more of a priority with its next posting date now 13 days away... OK, I know... you may well be sitting there looking at this photo and thinking, "Gosh, Carol, what are you doing? Where are you going with this??" If you are, I totally understand you :-) But, all will hopefully become clearer relatively soon... I hope! As a hint for Barbara, this design is by what I believe to be her favorite designer... and I think she will like all this green, as I believe green is Barbara's favorite color.... More to come tomorrow!!

I brought my camera outside early today... I took a couple of garden photos to share, as I realized I had not done that for a while...

This copper iris (a standard dwarf variety) is blooming along my walkway, and I had to take a photo for my garden archives. I do not recall ever seeing this one bloom before. The bloom is not pristine, and maybe I can get a shot of the other bud when it opens. I think the lawn sprinklers got to this one before I did.

And, my lilac buds on my asian variety lilac bush (blooms later than a standard lilac bush)... they are already smelling lovely!!

Stitched on today: Stitched a gift, and Barbara's Neighborhood Round Robin

I sent you an email earlier this morning (my time) when it dawned on me after breakfast that of course this is Hopeful. My brain just needed that day by the sea to wake it up. ;) Kathy is indeed one of my favorite designers and I LOVE this design. :D You're doing a GREAT job!!

Your exchanges are wonderful! Love that French country theme with all that yummy red!!

Love the exchanges - both of them!
Since Barbara has guessed the design you're stitching for her, I can now say, without being mysterious about it, that Hopeful is a perfect choice, and I can't WAIT to get my hands on this beauty!

Both exchanges are lovely! The chicken frame for Nadine's piece is very cute :) Nice progress on Barbara's RR - I'm not familiar with that design, off to try and look it up.

What great exchange items both yours and Nadine's, they look lovely. The chicken frame she found for her piece is so perfect with the chicken design. The Boo pattern you found for Michelle is very cute too, I love Halloween items.

Hi Carol, thanks for your lovely comment on my blog! I was a bit concerned as to whether I'd picked the right colours or not, so it's good to know that others agree with me. Would you like to SAL with me on Floralie? Please feel free to e-mail me, my address is in my profile.

I love your iris, we can't seem to get ours to flower.

How cute! That chicken frame exchange is just adorable. I raised my dad's chickens/fighting cocks/chicks/roosters when i was young while he goes to work, reminds me of my childhood. What a wonderful gift. =)

Great exchanges! I love the color of that Iris. My lilacs have already bloomed and no more to come. I am jealous that you still have that fragrance around!
