The Garden is Abloom

Before I get to the garden, I am first showing tonight's progress on Karen's Neighborhood Round Robin. The astute LHN fans amongst you will quickly recognize that so far I have been using LHN's Psalm 145 to begin my block (thanks to Andrea for generously including this chart in the recent scissor fob exchange package that she sent to me). After the house is stitched up I will be adding landscaping. It has just occurred to me tonight that Karen's theme is to stitch whatever house each of us would feel comfortable living in.... and I am stitching a house that resembles my own house a great deal! The color scheme is different (my own house is beige with green shutters and door), but the style is almost identical (a New England Colonial), and I have fruit trees too, just like the cherry tree in the design... and I have tons of wildlife, and I have the other items I am planning to stitch too. I must have planned that out subconsciously - LOL

I had a really nice day off today, although my biggest plan for the day was to go to the Department of Motor Vehicles and have my driver's license renewed. Mine expires on my birthday, and I have little time left to go and get it renewed. I even went and had my hair cut and styled earlier today, which would have been great for my license photo. But, when I got there, quite late in the afternoon, my own fault, the line was so long that there was no way they would get to everyone before they closed at 4 PM. So... I do not have a renewed license yet and I better really think on when I am going to get there again (in the morning next time!!) before my license expires!! I also have to find time to get both of our vehicles inspected, as their registrations expire on my birthday too. Hmmmm.... I feel a sick day coming on - LOL

Our garden is really starting to explode now! I just love July!! I took at least 50 photos today. It was late afternoon and rain clouds were coming in, so some of the photos are not quite as good as I had wanted. But here I will show you just a few of my favorite blooms from today :-)

Thank you all for your wonderful comments on my WIPS, by the way! I am not too far behind on blog reading right now, but I am quite behind on commenting. I want you to know that I do read your blogs, and enjoy them so much. Like many of you, my blog reader is overflowing!! I have good intentions, and I appreciate those who visit me even if I have not had a chance to comment in your blog lately. I will be there soon, I promise!

Stitched on today: Stitched on a gift, and Karen's Neighborhood Round Robin (...and, I mailed off my Little Critters Exchange package today too).

Your block is looking so pretty, and that is so neat that it resembles so much your own home. I'm looking forward to seeing how you landscape it.

Your flowers are lovely. We got a bit of rain today, but not enough to help much of anything, my yard is slowly turning to a dead brown/straw color all over.

Hmm, again this is the only post I can comment on and this time it's not my computer as I've borrowed my neighbours laptop :(

Your growing forest is lovely and all the other WIP's a wonderful too.

Don't know if you got them, but I sent you a couple of freebie photos for your freebie gallery the other day.
