Christmas Ornament Exchange from Linda

I received this really pretty SBEBB Christmas Ornament Exchange today from Linda. Linda stitched a Jean Farish ornament that I had been wanting to stitch for quite some time now. I will no longer have to stitch it, as I now have it already gracing my Christmas tree. Linda also sent me a felt mitten with some very pretty red fabric and some Christmasy Carrie's Creation floss inside. Thank you so much Linda, what a nice exchange.

Here is a closer shot of the ornament. As you can see, it has 8 little jingle bells on its tail. My cats love the music it makes!!

We were very busy here today. After the snow we had on Monday, it was immediately obvious that Mike's Corvette was not going to be sufficient for him for the winter. He got away with just driving his Corvette last winter, as it was so mild. But on Tuesday morning, Mike could not get his car up the slight slope of our driveway. So, I bought him one of these today: a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited in Steel Blue Metallic (same color as in this photo from Jeep's website). I have a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited in Bright Silver, so we have twins of sorts. Not the first time we have had Jeeps together. The Corvette will go into storage in our neighbor's garage for the winter... I got to drive the Jeep home from the dealer, since I do not drive the Corvette. It is too powerful for me. Of course, it snowed as soon as we left the dealership - good timing!!

With what little stitching time I had tonight, I focused on trying to get as much as I could get done on a gift (time is getting shorter, stitching is getting slower... some gifts will definitely arrive late this year!!). But I also slipped in a little time to work on the busy block here on Houses of Hawk Run Hollow.

Thanks for all of the well wishes. You are all so wonderful! I appreciate you so much :-)

Stitched on today: Stitched on a gift, and Houses of Hawk Run Hollow **Mailed out a gift today

Hee hee - blue and silver cars. That's Dallas Cowboys colors, you know. (I've been trying to tell DH that would be a good idea for us!)

Corvettes are definitely not winter cars! Before our DS was born, we owned a Corvette; I loved driving it - I didn't get to do it often enough, though! I got it up to 175 miles an hour (just once, to see how fast I could go!)

I love that Jean Farish ornament - I stitched it once for someone in an exchange - I'm going to have to stitch it again for myself.

I've been away for a few days and you've been quite busy. All the gifts given and received are lovely. Also, nice progress on Houses, and Serenity is looking gorgeous. Glad that you are feeling better, hopefully you are totally well soon. Have fun with the new Jeep, that would be such fun to have a set to drive around in, and so practical with the snow.

Looks like happy times are here again! :) That ebay site is already paying off for Mike! LOL Nothing is nicer than a new car, and how sweet to be able to give one to your DH, Carol. Have fun!!

Love the car, those are super nice, he'll love that. A corvette would be pretty worthless in snow, I agree LOL!

The ornament you received is so beautiful, wow!

AND your HOHRH is coming right along, I like this block with the yellow and black, very pretty colors together I think.

We had snow and slick roads yesterday and today, and boy am I glad I have a 4wheel drive suv! I'm sure Mike will love the Jeep, and can save the Corvette for those beautiful spring and summer days. :D
