I am so excited!

OK, this is a stitching blog, so I will start with today's stitching (some of it, as I was mostly stitching on a gift today) - I set myself back to work on A Quaker Christmas tonight... I did not accomplish as much as I would have liked to because I had no focus... I kept getting up and down, dancing around the den, totally unfocused and jubilant... because....

Let the photos say it for me...

RYAN NEWMAN WON THE DAYTONA 500 TONIGHT!! Most of my dearest friends know that I am 1) a huge sports fan, and 2) a HUGE fan of the Red Sox, the Patriots and Ryan Newman. I can say I love the MLB and the NFL... but I do not love NASCAR, per se (lately it is all Hendrick Motorsports/The Jimmie Johnson Show - no thank you) - I am just a Ryan Newman fan. And... after 81 races without a win (last was in September of 2005, right here in New Hampshire)... lots of patience and lots of worrying... well, I was just hoping for a win from Ryan - but he had bigger plans!! Ryan won the biggest of all of NASCAR's races tonight! Certainly, his teammate (seen in the top photo, car #2) is the reason he won - thank you, Kurt Busch, for pushing Ryan past Tony Stewart (#20) and breaking this amazing drought! Way to go Team Penske! I need to pinch myself - did this really happen??? I wonder if I will even sleep tonight! LOL

Stitched on today: Stitched on a gift, and A Quaker Christmas

I was curious about your post title and then it hit me. She is a Ryan Newman fan. She must be jubilent(sp). That was what the excitment was about.

I missed the last about 60 laps, so I did not see who won until I got home from bingo. What a surprise!! Penske had never won the Daytona, ever. Quite a history making race.

Quaker Christmas is looking good too!!

YAY #12!!! We went nuts here when he pulled past Tony Stewart and got the checkered flag. The best is that Ryan Newman won, but it's also pretty darn good that Tony Steward didn't win. :-) #20 is a bad number around here.

I have really enjoyed visiting your blog. I have Be Kind & True, Quaker Christmas & HoHRH all in my stash basket, so I have been doing a little 'vicarious stitching' this morning. Great photos! Thanks!

How nice for you that Ryan finally won! You must feel like part of his win when you have cheered him on for so long.

Wasn't that a GREAT race! While I'm not a Ryan Newman fan, I was very happy for the Penske team especially since they beat Stewart! LOL It's so nice to have racing season back.

Congratulations on your favorite driver winning. That would make it a wonderfully exciting day. Quaker is looking so pretty as well. I hope Ryan continues to do well this year.
