So close.... (and, postal shock)

I have come so close to finishing Judith's Neighborhood Round Robin tonight... soooo close. I had hoped I would, and then planned to even put it in the mail to An tomorrow. But it is too late at night to stitch the clouds and little border of cherries. I don't want to mess up. I will finish tomorrow and DH will post it to An on Monday.

And, speaking of the post office, DH says that one of the clerks at the post office has alerted him that there will be yet another postal increase very soon - didn't they just have one?? This one annoys me more than they usually do, as the service has gone downhill drastically and rapidly, in my observation. As you know, I have several packages in the post for weeks (and months) now that have not reached their destinations - even using Global Priority Mail, which is so very not cheap! And, I am not alone. The HoE Scissor Fob exchange has up to six packages lost and/or delayed in the post... that is a high percentage for that group. I see in many blogs that they are frustrated with slow and inconsistent postal service as well, yet the USPS has the guts to raise the rates again. Sigh....

I totally agree with your assessment of the postal service. Mail comes torn, partly open - and not just envelopes, but packages too. Our mailman often stuffs so much stuff in the mailbox that it's no wonder things are ripped. It doesn't take that much time to bring a small package to the door . . . Fortunately, nothing's been lost on my end, but I worry about it. Perhaps we'll have to consider Fed Ex or UPS?

Nice job on the stitching!!

wow you have gotten this done so quickly! Its looking great. I'm sorry about the postal service, that completely sucks they are raising their rates and its not like packages will arrive any sooner.

The stitching looks great! I know she will be pleased. As for the mail problem, I was complaining to my postal carrier about this very thing and he suggests sending things registered mail - he said because everyone that handles it has to sign for it, they move registered mail quickly because no one wants to be responsible for it not getting delivered and quickly. I plan to start using UPS for international shipments but you must have a street address, not a PO Box in order to ship with them.

Very nice!

The postal service is a bit annoying of late. I think the first class stamps are going up a 1cent.

I can't believe you're almost finished with your block!!! It looks fantastic!

You are so right about the USPS! I cannot believe that they're raising rates again, has this become a yearly thing???

Stitching looks great! I agree about the post office! I did go ahead and buy 3 packs of the Forever stamps since you can use them on first-class letters (think Christmas cards) no matter what postage goes up to.

Yes, the USPS is most annoying. I was a bit piqued to read about the rate increase a little while back, as well. Fuel costs must be causing an issue.
