An emergency vet call can begin a $300, that's just to bring the vet to your barn.

Oh, well, I would do it in a heartbeat for any of my animals. They are very precious and I believe that God puts them in our care for a reason.

We once had a cat (my Puffer) who got hit by a car. We didn't find him for 3 days and he had a compound fracture of his hock. We took him to the vet every night that summer so that the vet could irrigate his wounds to help keep a bone infection away. Suffice it to say we spent the price of a small country on vet care for him, so that he would walk again. Which he did! We called him the cat with the golden leg. Our friends wanted to commit us but it was worth every cent because I loved him. He lived a great life and I miss him to this very day.
So..you guys, hang in there!Joaniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17749912043612345670noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9060656.post-1167340697237132062006-12-28T16:18:00.000-05:002006-12-28T16:18:00.000-05:00Oh Carol, I'm so sorry to hear about the mounting ...Oh Carol, I'm so sorry to hear about the mounting expenses for your precious cat. It is hard with the cost of the care, but since he is good in other areas and if this should correct the problem if you can afford it I'd go for it too. They may be four legged and furry, but they are such a part of the family, truly our furbabies.

Sorry you have to frog on the beading of mystery. As far as I'm concerned, with pets, if you can manage to afford the expense and the furbaby is otherwise healthy, there is no alternative. I was so made at my mother when she suggested that Phoebe's knee surgery was more than she would have paid. But then, she's put down so many animals in her lifetime that I think that they may be a bit disposable to her now... That is sad.

Keep fighting. When Toby had his accident and broke his pelvis (he was still living with me and not mum) his vet bill came to approx £5000 (is that about $8000???) I was so glad I had him insured so only had to pay out the excess because I would have had no option but to have him put to sleep otherwise. I'm sure sometimes though that these vets just grab figures out of mid air just because they sound good to them.

Good luck Angus with your operation!

Mystery looks lovely.
