There is no such thing as 28 count Belfaast or 32 count Cashel. Just a matter of mixing up names and counts.

As for the history, I don't know how they came to name the linens after Irish cities, but do know that Zweigart is a Germany based company that has been around for a very long time ( think over 100 years at least).Annemiekhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01854866804414170988noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9060656.post-46450007840611765172008-12-18T05:20:00.000-05:002008-12-18T05:20:00.000-05:00What a cute ornament! Who knows why, I think it might be to honour the places where once, great production mills were to be found or... it could be just to differentiate between the counts so there can be absolutely no mistake. Thanks for showing us. I really wanted to see what it looked like.

Second, the linen names - you are absolutely correct. There is no such thing as 32 count cashel or 28 count belfast. Either the count or the geography are wrong! I've not seen anybody trying to do cross stitch on Kingston (55 count) which is the only other one we refer to by name here in NZMargarethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08554874389968864826noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9060656.post-75983877721452109302008-12-17T22:43:00.000-05:002008-12-17T22:43:00.000-05:00Cute ornament! No thoughts on the linen, other than...Cute ornament!

No thoughts on the linen, other than that Edinburgh is in Scotland, Newcastle is in England, and Belfast is in Northern Ireland :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9060656.post-58744148077868301482008-12-17T22:41:00.000-05:002008-12-17T22:41:00.000-05:00Carol, Who is it that has 32ct Cashel and 28ct Bel...Carol,

Who is it that has 32ct Cashel and 28ct Belfast?
