The (Toxic) Swamp

This isn't the swamp :-) I put some more time in on MTM. I decided to photograph it in full, as it makes me feel like I accomplished more. Anyhow, here it is as of tonight...

The Swamp is my Haverhill office. I was shocked by the horrible state it was in when I arrived there this morning. Clearly, the lovely landlord has not been there in days. It stank soooo badly! I had four big plastic buckets of standing water in them on my floor - water that came in from the old, scummy ceiling. Oh gosh, I want to get out of there so badly! He hasn't put in new ceiling tiles either. What a site! I took photos on my cell phone, but they are simply too depressing to even look at... I wish the new office's rental agent would get in gear and call Mike back with some info!!

Carol, it's positively horrendous that you've had to put up with this kind of treatment. You'd think the owner of the building would want to keep up his investment! Hope you're able to get out of there ASAP!

Oh, Carol, this is just not acceptable! After spending a couple of years as a rental agent in Maine, I can't believe that you have to put up with this!! I don't know the MA laws, but in ME, he could be sued.

MTM is incredible. WOW!

I am so sorry to hear about your office woes. It really must be so depressing to see it like that and the landlord not doing anything about it. I hope you can get something sorted about the new offices soon.

MTM looks good, well done on your hard work.

I agree with Barbara. My first thought is don't you have some sort of legal grounds to support yourself in this situation? I would think that your rental agreement mentions the office having to be habitable? :| This guy needs to have a fire lit under him, methinks.

Your MTM is looking really fabulous. Looks like you are halfway there with this part? Just think, everything else will be a breeze after this! :)

Wow, Carol, MTM looks stunning! It's going to be so worth it when it's done :)

Very sorry to hear your office situation is no better - and worse by the sound of it. I don't understand how the landlord thinks he can get away with it. Really hope something gets sorted out for you soon.

Oh Carol, you poor thing - I can't believe your landlord, that's just appalling!! I agree you should take things further with him ... and I'm sleeping with my fingers crossed for you that your other place becomes available soon! {{hugs}}

On a brighter note, though, MTM is looking goooood :D
