I feel like I have been working this same corner of And A Forest Grew for some time now. But then again, I have not stitched on this since June 16th - that surprised me! I am glad to have it going again and I made some good progress. As you can see, that tree no longer looks like a coat rack at all!
I am really excited about this!! In the summer of 2001, when we bought this house, Mike planted some grapes. They have grown strong and healthy every year, but have never produced fruit. Today, during my garden stroll, I came across this... our first signs of fruit! And... while also in the garden, I took many photos. Here is a small sampling. The first daylily is Always Afternoon. The other two, I really cannot recall...

Grapes! That is so cool. My grandparents had a grapevine growing over the roof of their back porch. One of my best childhood memories is eating grapes off that grapevine.

ReplyDeleteWe have a big grape vine in the backyard. One of the few original plantings that has survived our rough ownership. LOL! We get delicious purple grapes from it every year, which we happily share with the birds. :D

How wonderful to find fruit on your vines. While my Dad was staying with us our lemon produced some fabulous fruit (Dad picked them and brought them in to the surprise of Joel and I who were completely unaware any fruit was forthcoming!)

Indeed, we haven't seen Forest in a while. :) Congratulations on your grape vines finally bearing fruit. Waiting on fruit vines to produce is always agonizing. Reminds me, we need to prepare to plant some grapes next year, as Terry wants to try his hand at making his own wine someday!
