End of August Update

My ornament for August is Lizzie Kate's Rejoice on 32 ct Cobblestone Belfast with one strand of CC floss.  It was hard to believe the 1998 copyright on this free chart.  20 years.... where does time go?
Much of this month's needlework time was spent on making this Lilliana by Hooked on Sunshine.  Christmas gift making has begun, and this is for someone who loves the beach.  I made mine with slightly more than 7 cakes of Lion Brand Cupcake in Moody Blue and a 4 mm hook,  Great pattern with excellent directions.
I also made part 7 of Red Agape's Casual Granny CAL.... a very colorful addition this month.  I think there is only one month of squares left to go now.
And I started an Atlanticus by Hooked on Sunshine using Lion Brand Mandala in Chimera for yet another Christmas gift.  This needs a serious blocking,  I will do that once I come to the end of this current yarn cake.
Hubby dropped this pretty red Gerbera daisy off at my office this week.  I am a lucky lady 😙😙

End of June Update

June felt a little bit unproductive for me.  I did continue on with the Christmas Ornament SAL, having selected Lizzie Kate's On Dasher.  I love the colors on this one.
I also continued on with Redagape's Casual Granny CAL.  This month we did an Aztec Granny Square, and it took me some time to select my colors.  Ultimately, I opted for SSDK Apricot, Aspen and Spring Green.
A great deal of my stitching time in June was spent right here on Briar Rose by Hooked on Sunshine.  I chose to make mine with Scheepjes Whirl in Lemon Cassis Creme.  I am coming to the end of my second cake, as seen in my yarn holder in the photo.  I splurged on a third cake to give this very delicate blanket more size.  It's getting huge, at least in terms of stitch count.  Each round takes quite a lot of time, but I really love this project.
Caitlin was busy with her amigurumi again this month.  Lalylala's Cupcake Ella was one of her adorable finishes...
...and then she made one for Uncle Mike (my DH) for his birthday, adapting it to be more masculine with candies and Sprinkles on his icing 😙
I also started the extremely popular Orbit the Dragon CAL.  This is my part 1 completed.  I finished part 2 last night, no photo yet.  So many parts to sew on this one!  Caitlin is also making one or two Orbits... looking forward to seeing hers soon.

Welcome Amelia Bedelia!!

Welcome Miss Amelia!! We had an early arrival on December 1st. My beautiful niece and her sweetie are the proud parents of little Amelia. I could not be prouder! Amelia is the recipient of the baby blanket in my last post.
Ho Ho Ho!!

I recently stitched this ornament for a friend who loves samplers, especially reproduction samplers.  I thought the deer on this one suited the theme, so it was an easy choice.  The chart is in a relatively recent issue of Cross Stitch &  Needlework, which I tucked away when my work was complete.  Now I have no idea where I put it.  No idea who the designer is.
This cutie is for a dear friend. I know she likes The Little Stitcher. Choosing Blue Snowman in the 2016 JCS Christmas Ornament Issue was easy.
It was very fun to stitch Lizzie Kate's Dash Away for another friend... complete with table centerpiece from my office waiting room as the photo backdrop ;-)
This little holiday robin is a freebie I found on Pinterest. I think the designer's name may be Alioka?? She is in Itay, I may recall. Her blog is having issues and finding the chart link has been difficult to date....
And lastly, a good friend just celebrated a birthday... for her I crocheted Corner Hearts Cushion in Crochet Now, Issue 9. The reverse of the pillow is all in cream. I chose to use leftover yarns from my Vibrant Vintage Blanket, along with one other color in my stash. The cream hearts are James C. Brett Top Value DK (almost a full ball, not a leftover yarn), while the colors are Stylecraft Special DK in Raspberry, Turquoise, Cypress (not used in the VV blanket), Denim, Wisteria, Aster, Fondant, Aspen, Clematis, Bluebell, Teal, Spring Green, Plum, Pomegranate and Magenta. Hope she enjoys using it in her stitching chair ;-)

Lots of Christmas ornaments!!

I have a few Christmas ornaments to share.... cannot believe how long it has been since I have posted. So much going on, I wish I had more time to stitch.
I sent this "Christmas Ornament" to Brendon for the HoE Christmas Ornament Exchange... not Christmasy? I know. But, Brendon loves the Giants and I know that... I sucked it up as a Red Sox fan and stitched this for him. I thought of adding a little holly or something, but my eyes were so buggy as I was between prescriptions at the time, and thought... this is good! Hey, I have NE Patriots ornaments that just say NE Patriots on my tree... typical US sports fan stuff...lol. Anyhow, I know he loves it!
This is the beauty I received from Kathy K. for the same exchange... love, love, love it! Cannot get enough BRD ornaments on my tree!! Thank you so much Kathy, so beautifully stitched and finished.
Now... on to ornaments I have been blessed to receive this year :-) This sweet little German angel is stitched by my beloved Marie P. So very, very sweet!
And dearest Andrea added this stunning addition for our tree!
While sweet, sweet Katrina sent me this cutie...
And the ever so kind and thoughtful Margaret sent me this sweet thing - a Barbara Ana freebie from a FB group, and she tweeked the colors thusly... awesome!
So, I stitched a few gifts... this is for Brenda, one of my oldest and dearest pals... my hand tremors are often very bad (neurologist says there is no diagnosis, so not sure what is up)... best pick I could get with the tremors acting up so badly and could not go outside for a better pic due to snow...

Pretty Needleroll Ornament from Katrina

Received this beautiful LK needleroll ornament from my dear friend Katrina last night. I love it, and have caught myself admiring it several times now...lol. It says Rejoice along the right side, and capturing a decent picture of that was difficult... a sweet treat for my tree that I will cherish forever! Thank you, dear friend!

Hope everyone has been well! For those who are still around and visit my blog once in a while, my tinnitus seems to be under some control. Migraines are gone, back and neck are improving with TMJ treatment. Off of dairy and using twice daily sinus rinses to thin mucous.... tinnitus still kind of loud in the morning because lying down revs it up a bit, but then it clears (most days) to a quiet humm that I often do not even notice.... hope my long journey is coming to an end... Off to do huge landscaping and gardening stuff for the week... and some ornament finishing... Loving memorial thoughts to my USAF father in law who passed away in 2009... enjoy your Memorial Day everyone!
