More Christmas Ornaments!

Happy Thanksgiving to my US friends!

I have some more Christmas ornaments to share today!

I received this sparkly beauty from Ronel for the FTT Christmas Ornament Exchange earlier this week - was waiting for a sunny afternoon to take a good photo, but we have had cloudy weather with sprinkles most of the week... at least it is still mild here, so I won't complain. I had to give in and take a photo of it on my kitchen counter this morning, as I have been dying to show it off. It is so pretty - thank you, Ronel!

And, my final PIF for the year has now arrived at its destination! Edda emailed me yesterday to let me know that the Christmas Ornament I stitched for her has now arrived safe and sound in Iceland. I was a little worried about how long it would take, as I noticed well after I left the post office the day that I mailed it that the receipt said Ireland on it... did not know if the clerk had the right bar code on the postage tape, and whether or not this ornament would end up south east of Iceland for a little while... probably did not, though, as it did arrive in decent time!

I hope my US friends had a nice Thanksgiving - Mike and I enjoyed a nice time at my mother's house with her new husband, my siblings and my nieces today... plenty to give thanks for yet again!

Christmas Ornament for Hazel... and one for Becky... and one for Andrea too!

**Edited to add - OK, two more ornaments I recently stitched and mailed have arrived at new homes today too - so here they all are... (I know - so much from me all at once!)...

I just heard from Hazel that she has just received the Christmas Ornament I sent to her for the Friends Through Threads Christmas Ornament Exchange. I was so pleased that the ornament arrived in the UK in just a little over a week's time - much improvement in the UK postal service now! Yay! Here is what I chose to stitch for Hazel...

Hazel wrote that she was really pleased with the ornament, and I must say that I was thrilled to receive her name for this exchange. Glad you like it Hazel - Merry Christmas to you!!

I heard from Becky that she received the ornament I sent to her for the HoE Christmas Ornament Exchange. I stalked her blog a little to decide what to stitch for her, and I noticed she recently had a birthday giveaway of a reindeer kit... and mentioned she loved reindeer... so I stitched her a reindeer (of course!!):

And... then I also heard from Andrea that she received the PIF that I sent off to her as well... yet another Christmas ornament, as I really have been wanting to work up that Christmas spirit lately...

Glad everyone said they were pleased with their tree gifties... now one last PIF out there waiting to be received.... but it has to travel a bit to Iceland... so stay tuned!

PIF for Wendy Jo

Wendy Jo emailed me this morning to let me know that the PIF I sent off to her has arrived. With Christmas so close now, I chose to make her a Christmas Ornament - this is one I have admired in one of the past JCS Ornament Issues, so I chose to make it for her (I just love JBW Designs):

Also, I heard from Sherry today that she has received my PIF gift for her (wow, I am actually finally down to just one more PIF to stitch and send!!) - you can tell what sad anniversary has been on my mind lately, but fortunately, Sherry says this was a good choice for her - I knew it, good country girl that she is ;-)

So... now I realize I can start thinking about what new medium sized project I can start in place of Acorn Sampler - I guess I will start with looking at what is already kitted up :-)

All kinds of stuff...

I have all kinds of things to show today, so fair warning - this entry is a bit photo heavy!

First of all, I received the most amazing pocketed pinkeep from Vonna today. Isn't it a beauty? I made a wish for one - a pinkeep with a pocket on the back - over on the Make A Wish Exchange very recently, and was excited when Vonna volunteered to make one for me. She also sent me some items from my wishlist for my birthday. What a sweetie! Thank you so much Vonna - I love it all!

Some more birthday gifts have arrived... I know, I am quite spoilt!
Jill is amazing! Jill and I talk sports quite a bit. She totally respects my love of the Red Sox while she is very much a Twins fan. (Truth be told, I love the Twins too - just love the Red Sox more) - we also love Kevin Garnett of the Boston Celtics. Anyhow... looky what she made for me. How cool is this?? And it is so perfectly stitched and assembled. I love the heart shaped eyelet she used. And she also sent a marking pin that she made herself - and I needed a new one, having recently broken mine... Thank you so much Jill!
WendyJo also stitched a floss ring tag for me - these are the only two I own... she stitched one of my favorite Lizzie Kate freebies - love it, thanks so much Wendy Jo!!

A couple of gifts I put together and sent out also have arrived where they should. First is my little tiny birthday gift for Patti - most of you know already that Patti and I were born on the exact same day, and I think that is very, very cool because Patti is so incredibly cool!

Humble Daisys Floss Ring Tag

28 ct Misty Green Linen, DMC Floss, Stitched one-over-one

Also, Karen has received the PIF gift that I made for her... as I recently mentioned, I am on a Brightneedle kick lately ;-)
Mama Bird Floss Ring Tag

Brightneedle

32 ct Natural Pearl Linen, GAST Floss, stitched one-over-one

And finally... coming to the end of the line here... I pulled Acorn Sampler back out tonight. All last month I kept thinking, "nope, I am not in the mood." Tonight I let myself realize why. I really don't care for the coverage of the silk on the cashel linen in several areas on the sampler. I will finish it and even frame it. It was a really fun class with Betsy. That said, if I had to do it all over again, I would have stitched this on belfast linen instead. Almost there now - one good lengthy stitching session and it will be finished!

PIF for Sharon

I heard from Sharon today that she has received my PIF gift for her. I made her a floss ring tag - these little buggers are very addictive once you start making them :-) As you can see, I like to attach my scissors to the ring too while working on a small project...

And that's all folks... that Nora Corbett Halloween Fairy in CS&N is getting lots of attention and I got mine mostly all kitted up now... but tonight I am going to hide so I can work on my MAW exchange for Simone... it is due out by August 4th, and I finally have room in my schedule to get it going!

Happy Weekend everyone - this is the start of a week's vacation for me, whew! I never work my birthday week... one small gift I can give to myself! Have a great night ;-)

PIF for Melissa

Well, I keep working away on my PIF list. It is taking me a while, but I am getting through them all. If you signed up with me, don't worry - I am getting them done :-) I heard today that Melissa has received the PIF that I sent to her...

Tree of Life Scissors Fob

Jeannette Douglas

28 ct Vintage Country Mocha Cashel Linen, Thread Gatherer Silk 'n Colors, DMC Floss

I am planning to go to a town Planning Board meeting in a little bit... someone wants to re-open and expand a junk yard right up against our property line. Disgusting. I am going to go listen to what they have to say and see how our town is reacting to this vile plan... so I am just going to drop in this blog entry - that will leave me time to exercise and work on my HoE Summer Quaker Exchange when I get home...

Have a great night!

PIF for Dawn

I continue to work my way through my list of stitchers who signed on to do PIF with me. And today I heard that Dawn received my PIF gift for her... this is the stitched part of what I sent to her - I had been digging through Patriotic patterns while putting together the Patriotic Exchange I did last week, I came across this sweet chart - had to stitch it too!

USA Fob

Trail Creek Farm

32 ct Dirty Belfast Linen, WDW Floss

And, this is for many of friends, especially Jill - you may have already seen Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen on David Letterman's show, but I only heard of it today and did, of course, find it on You Tube - we are waiting out a rain delay at the Red Sox game now - the Celtics are all there to celebrate and Paul Pierce will be throwing out the first pitch :-)

Off to work on my Christmas in July Exchange project now...

Stuff to share!

Yay! I received two lovely emails today, both letting me know that an exchange and a PIF have been received... so, here they are, stuff to share!

Nancy has received the SBEBB Feathered Friends exchange that I sent to her. I dug out an older freebie that I have been dying to stitch. It is hard to find photos of this one online, and the ones I did find were altered using brighter threads... I was anxious to see it as it is charted, and I have to say, I love it! I am glad Nancy likes it too!

Birds & Berries Mattress Pincushion

Lilybet

Silkweaver 40 ct Newcastle Solo Linen, GAST & WDW Floss

... and the rest of the goodies I sent along for her - I hope she enjoys them too.

I also heard from Linda that she received my PIF for her as well - the rest of the goodies I sent her can be seen on her blog ;-) And as you can see, I clearly enjoy using Prairie Schooler's Garden Alphabet for fobs as much as I like Elizabeth's Designs' Nature's Alphabet ;-)

A PIF for Nic

I found out today that Nic has received the PIF gift that I sent to her last week. I keep plugging away at my PIF list and still have a few left to do. I am wondering if all of the people who signed up, though, have posted on their blogs to follow through with the other side of the PIF? I am not sure, but it doesn't seem like many others are stitching PIFs at the moment... I picked up a whole pile of little pieces of 32 ct linen at a shop at Celebration a couple of weeks ago. Each piece was only 25 cents, but I have no idea what colors some are... like this one:

A PIF for Georgie

I have continued to work away on my PIF list, and now today I heard from Georgie that she has received my PIF gift for her. She has some nice photos in her blog which also show the rest of my package for her. I had fun making this for you Georgie, and I am glad that you like it :-)

I want to thank everyone who continues to visit my blog and even leave me comments... as well as the many newcomers who have been stopping by. I appreciate you all very much, and I am so sorry that I am quite a bit behind with reading blogs right now. I hit a few here and there, but I am so very, very swamped by paperwork at the office lately.... :-( Thank you all :-)
