I am really excited about this!! In the summer of 2001, when we bought this house, Mike planted some grapes. They have grown strong and healthy every year, but have never produced fruit. Today, during my garden stroll, I came across this... our first signs of fruit!
And... while also in the garden, I took many photos. Here is a small sampling. The first daylily is Always Afternoon. The other two, I really cannot recall...

Grapes! That is so cool. My grandparents had a grapevine growing over the roof of their back porch. One of my best childhood memories is eating grapes off that grapevine.
yay Fruit! LOL What pretty flowers in your garden too. :)
The forest is definitely growing - it looks good Carol! :o)
Photos of your lillies are always a treat.
We have a big grape vine in the backyard. One of the few original plantings that has survived our rough ownership. LOL! We get delicious purple grapes from it every year, which we happily share with the birds. :D
Oohhhhh, grapes! How exotic!
The forest is growing at a pace!
(Thanks for signing me up to the freebie gallery. I finally got through my blog reads and commenting and went to email you.....and you'd beaten me to it, lol. Thanks Carole. I'm new to small finishes so haven't got that many under my belt yet, but what I have pics of are ear-marked for the gallery :D )
How wonderful to find fruit on your vines. While my Dad was staying with us our lemon produced some fabulous fruit (Dad picked them and brought them in to the surprise of Joel and I who were completely unaware any fruit was forthcoming!)
And a forest grew is looking amazing!
Good to see AAFG back again!
You have such lovely flowers in your garden Carol - it's always a treat to see them!
WOW AAFG looks fantastic Carol.
What gorgeous flowers.
Hugs
Lovely to see AAFG again Carol! It's looking gorgeous - I must make this a 2008 start :)
The lilies look so pretty. Congrats on the grapes.

Good grief, yes it seems ages since we saw this one. LOL at your coat rack comment!
Ooh grapes, yum! I hope you get to them before the birds do.
And a forest grew is really looking great!! How exciting to see fruit on your grape vines!
Grapes wow..I've never heard of anyone growing them befor. Very cool! Your flowers are so pretty. Wow has it been that long since we've seen the forest. I'm glad it's back.
AAFG is looking stunning Carol, great progress
Your forest is coming along nicely!
Hi Carol - I'm sorry its been so long since I've commented. All of your projects are looking great and those grapes are so cute! lol... can grapes be cute? Well, your flowers are so beautiful too. I wish I could maintain a small garden, but alas, I have three doggies that like flowers too much - well, they like the dirt around them anyway lol. Hope you have a good day. :)
AAFG looks great. It makes me want to buy the stash for it, lol. The flowers are beautiful.
I love the progress on the trees and love the flower photos. TFS
Oh my gosh, such pretty flowers. Our deer would gobble those right up for breakfast. I'm lucky if one single bloom is spared.
This is my first visit to your blog and I'm very impressed! Your work is so beautiful, and you have so many things going! I have seen And a Forest Grew on another stitcher's blog but she didn't have much done yet. I didn't realize it was so large and beautiful! I really enjoyed reading some of your posts!
Everything seems to be growing on your blog, The Forest, The grapes and the day lillies. Great job. You must have a green thumb. Keep up the good work, Donna
I love that forest, I'm going to add that to my wish list. Look forward to seeing your grapes grow too.
It was fun seeing Forest turn up in your pictures today. I saw it and thought I hadn't seen it in a while, but hadn't realized it had been quite that long as what you noted.
Congratulations on the start of your grapes, and your flowers are lovely.
Sue
Indeed, we haven't seen Forest in a while. :) Congratulations on your grape vines finally bearing fruit. Waiting on fruit vines to produce is always agonizing. Reminds me, we need to prepare to plant some grapes next year, as Terry wants to try his hand at making his own wine someday!
