It was a quiet day in a house of mourning. I did find a few minutes earlier today to work on my new Neighborhood Round Robin. We then went out for our anniversary dinner at The Outback. It was good to get Mike out of the house and enjoy some time in public. He enjoyed himself, so that is good. After that, I started the long awaited Spring Ride SAL, which is with Karen and Kathy. This SAL was planned out about two years ago, before Karen was even pregnant with Riley. Well, that is really the reason why the SAL did not start until now :-) Anyhow, what am I thinking of, starting another LARGE project?? But, it is such a fun stitch already. I love the use of one strand of floss throughout. It is much like stitching on Girl with Cat (which, sadly, I have been ignoring lately) - but this one is more colorful!! I know it looks a tiny bit creepy right now - an arm reaching out of nowhere. I am stitching it on white opalescent belfast... I think my camera caught a little bit of the sparkle :-)
On top of all that happened here last night, we also noticed that our Lily was limping quite badly. Her right front leg is really bothering her. Her nails are neatly clipped and showing no signs of digging into her pads. Her pads all look good too. I think she may have sprained her ankle/leg jumping off of something? We will take her to the vet, of course, if she does not get better soon. This morning, Mike turned on the heating pad and she laid right down on it for hours. After that, though, she was rambunctious again, and is still limping as a result...

Carol - just read about Mike's Grandfather. I'm very sorry to hear of your loss. Sending prayers to you and your family. {{hugs}}
Still thinking of you two....
Poor Lily, too, with her limp.
I can't tell what your new project is supposed to be, but, knowing you, it's going to be another stunner!
It is good that you were still able to acknowledge your wedding anniversary during this difficult time. Take care.
Joanne
Carol,
Its so good that you were able to go out to dinner together for your anniversary. I will keep you in my prayers.
I have to thank you for answering a question I had indirectly. I wanted to see what Spring Ride will look like when finished (I stitch vicariously thru reading blogs!) and I discovered that the designer is the same one of a piece that I am stitching(Lazy Afternoon). I never knew what the signature said at the bottom and now I know! I mean I think I know its hard to read!lol Please take care ((hugs))
Hope that Lily is okay.
I'm very sorry to hear about Mike's Grandfather, it's especially hard when you're used to seeing someone so often and then the next week you just can't. My condolences.
I love your template with the black background, I'm not sure how long you have it, that's the problem with google reader but it looks great!
So sorry to hear of your loss, hugs to you and your family. And I hope Lily is feeling better soon.
It's nice to hear that you still did something for your anniversery.
Lily has such a precious little face, it really looks like she's enjoying her heatpad. I hope she's feeling better soon.
Can't wait to see some more of your new SAL project.
So sorry to hear of your loss. Mike sure was a devoted grandson.
I hope Lily feels better soon.
Poor Lily! Hope her limps get better soon:)
I hope Lily makes a speedy recovery. Nice start on Spring Ride
So sorry to hear about your loss. My thoughts are with you and your family during such a sad time.
Carol, Very sorry about Mike's grandfather. I am keeping you in my prayers.
I took the plunge and purchased And A Forest Grew. You are my inspiration. Oh and you will have fun with Spring Ride. I for some reason love over one stitching.
I am sorry to hear about your loss. Losing such a dear family member is so difficult. I'll keep you in my prayers! *hugs*
It is fun to start new projects, and your cat is so cute on the heating pad! I hope her paw gets better soon.
Poor Lily. Phoebe did something similar just the other day. She was doing her usual, silly running around and I heard a yelp out of her and then she started limping. She was much better after a day of rest, though. I hope that the same goes for Lily.
I'm glad that you were able to get Mike out of the house for a little bit. It helps to get out in the fresh air and trasnfer focus from the loss. If I lived close, I would pop in to give you some company. *hug*
Continuing to send lots of hugs to you and Mike. And get-well wishes for Lily!
Great start on Spring Ride. I hope that Lily gets better soon. I may have to take Othello in for the same thing - limping on the front leg.
Oh Carol....I'm so sorry to read your very sad news. I'm thinking of you and Mike and I shall pray like mad for the pair of you...and Lily too, bless her heart. Lots of love to you xxxxx
dear Carol, so sorry to hear about Mike's grandfather - you are both in my thoughts at this sad time.
I hope Lily is better soon too :)
I'm glad you were able to get out for a little bit. I went to Outback for the first time a week ago with my daughter and had a wonderful meal.
I hope Lily feels better soon. I have a heated mattress pad that when I turn it on my cats love to curl up and lay on. Hopefully the next time Lily rests and feels better she isn't quite so eager to go running off and irritate her leg again.

Carol, I kind of know what you are feeling as today is the 9 year anniversary of my mom passing and we have a wedding anniversary on May 16. I am so sorry that Mike lost his grandfather, I never had a grand dad and would have loved to have known that experience. Still it is a hard time and our hearts go out to you both! Your kitty is so sweet and I hope she begins to feel better. Great new start on Spring Ride! Debby :)
Please pass along condolences from my DH and I to Mike. We just attended my DH's grandmother's memorial service in AZ last weekend -- thankfully there was a lot of family there, and an uncontainable joy that always seems to accompany my DH's crazy family. Bittersweet, nonetheless...
And Mina sends a get-well "meow" to your Lily! (although she is a bit suspicious, since in our house the DOG is named Lily...LOL)
I just read about Mike's granddad too. I'm sorry to hear this. It's great that he spent so much time with him lately which is a blessing.
I hope kitty is feeling better.
Carol, I am just catching up. Sorry to hear about Mike's grandfather-my condolences to both of you. I hope Lily is okay.
{{{hugs}}}

Your pic of Lily just took my heart. I lost my baby boy Micah, a seal point persian last week. He loved loved the heating pad.
