I'm finally in :-)

I'm in with both feet now in the Celtic Ladies SAL! Here is what I have done so far tonight on Celtic Winter. She is coming out very delicate on the Silkweaver 28 ct Blue Diamonds Reflections. This fabric is so brilliant. I think she will be a rather quick stitch, as compared to some of my other large projects. I have been enjoying watching the progress of many of the other ladies in this SAL, and I am thrilled to finally be stitching my piece too. I will be stitching more tonight, but it is half time in the New England Patriots game, and it seemed like a good time to get up, leave the TV, and scan my fabric - LOL!!!

I finally received this issue of Cross Stitch Gold in the mail today - I have been waiting for this one because I love the nature sampler featured on the cover! I guess I have to find a source to get the Anchor threads for it now - I believe I have another project that needs Anchor as well. I am a tiny bit disappointed in the chart, though. I have noticed that these UK magazines seem to have quite an aversion to charting with fractional stitches. This is true for this chart as well, and the outlining looks sloppy. I can fix that as I have enough experience to figure out where to put fractionals. But, I figure lots of Brits can stitch fractionals - and lots and lots of them can stitch them well, I am very sure! So, why not print charts with fractionals?? It's beyond me...

I picked up some stash on ebay tonight - a fat quarter of 40 ct R&R Creme Brulee linen for Garden Spots Sampler - I can't use the Silkweaver 36 ct Days Gone By linen I hoped I could use... it is too small. And, I picked up a fat quarter of putty belfast at an excellent price - I think it will be perfect for one of the Long Dog Samplers I am hoping to start soon too :-) Anyone want to do a Long Dog SAL??

Stitched on today: 17th Century Irish Garden at work (will put up a new progress pic soon), and Celtic Winter

***Oh, I almost forgot! Someone asked what the heart sampler is at the bottom of my "Currently Stitching" section in my sidebar... I am sorry, I was too lazy to set up a link to more details.... that is An Open Heart by The Drawn Thread... an SAL I will likely be doing with Karen K. and Tannia in Australia later this month...

****Important football update (of course!!): New England Patriots 30, Oakland Raiders 20!!

The fabric you've chosen for CW is so pretty. I worked on mine last night durring the game too. I didn't get much done but, I'm happy with what I did accomplish.

I know there are places on line you can get Anchor floss. I think 123stitch.com carries them but, near you Yankee Cross Stitch carries Anchor. I got a ton of Anchor from them last year when I was up there.

I can't wait to see how CW turns out. I've been eyeing Celtic Autumn for myself. I think I'll be hunting eBay for a deal on that pattern soon. :)

You are on a roll already Carol... looking wonderful.

If you are wanting Anchor floss, I would be more than happy to get what you need - shop just up the road has the whole range. Send me a list....

mmmmm, Creme Brulee sounds delicious! I'm still anxiously awaiting my silks, chart and fabric. I can't wait to start our SAL. Hmmm, a Long Dog SAL is tempting too. I'm so in love with Paradigm Lost!
