And now, the snow day that was!

Snow is coming down, and coming down, and coming down some more out there today. All the schools in a huge area of New England are closed today. Just south of here (Manchester, NH area) turned over to rain/slush hours ago, but we seem to be in what forecasters call "the jackpot," where it is just snow, snow, snow. Looks like we may get close to that foot of snow we were warned about last night. No dental appointment today! (***The snow ended around 3 PM and we got somewhere between 10" - 12" of fluffy, blowing snow).
I managed to finish Part 3 of Medieval Town Mandala this morning. There are a whole lot of beads that need to go into this first three parts, so we shall see if I end up doing that before this month/year ends... I would really like to, as I am dying to see how it will look.
I wanted to stitch again tonight, but with no camera for today I chose to select a project that fits in my scanner so that I could post an update here... so, can you just imagine how disappointed I was that it would have to be Houses of Hawk Run Hollow?? LOL!

Well... believe it or not, Mike sold my digital camera this morning to a contractor working on our basement... my new camera is supposedly due to arrive today or tomorrow. I hate being without a camera! But, I did take a few photos this morning before I knew the camera was being sold. Here is my favorite Christmas cactus, back in bloom again! I love this one because the flowers are large and look like prawns :-) As you can see, it is snowing out the window!!

I also caught Ava and Gig on the window shelf this morning watching the very, very active birdfeeder. Again, you can see it is snowing at a good clip here! Of course, as soon as they even sense I am behind them, they turn around and refuse to pose for a good picture!! Anyhow... this what my cats have been doing all day - different combinations of cats sitting in the window watching the birds gobble up food. Mike even refilled the feeder just a little while ago.

And, here is a peek at how the basement is coming along. I haven't said anything about this in ages, because there was a lengthy lag in the project. But, despite the heavy snow, two of the contractors showed up today to work on getting the suspended ceiling installed... one bought the camera... Mike took this picture as an example for him. Figured I would share it - Mike is excited that the basement is almost done now.

Stole this from Vash's blog :-)

Congrats on getting the 3rd installment done, sans beads. all this snow is giving me the winter blahs already. Just going from the hotel to the van the snow was almost to my knees! The only thing my cats left me today was some "presents" near my crafting area. Lucky me.....

WOW, MTM is looking beautiful! Congrats on your progress today.

WOW, you did get some snow.

Ava and Gig are beautiful cats, Carol :) I love that they were wathcing the birds eat :) I wish I could keep the outddor bird OFF my birdfeeders. They are killing so many of our birds. I know it;s their nature, but it makes me feel bad that the birds are trying to eat from our feeders and being stalked and killed.

Stay warm my friend :)

Great Job on MTM. I love the colors added to those corners. Your kitties are adorable too. Mine love to watch the squirrels and the chipmunks who infest our backyard:)

Hmmm, I think I meant to say keep the Outdoor cat off my birdfeeders :) Sheesh!

What a nice quiet stitching snow day you had! I love both of those projects you're working on. The mailman didn't trek through the snow to bring you your stash? lol

Now, THAT'S my kind of snow! :) I really like how MTM is coming along. Plus, HOHRH. Congrats on such a productive snow day! Your kitties look so pretty. I remember mine used to sit there, nearly motionless, except for the tip of her tail that would crook this way and that. Funny beasties just want a snack! ;) Oh and congrats on getting close to a basement finish. It's going to be great when it's done! And you better get your camera so that there are lots of piccies when it's finished. :)

My Mom is up to 8 inches and counting in the snow storm that hit up her way. We've had heavy frost - looks like a fuzzy white coat on everything. Very cold for biking!

Your cats just look so squeezably soft and cuddly! Ours has also been enjoying the re-stocked apple tree out front, which has been hopping with birdies all day.

Great projects and pics. Good luck with your new camera!
