I got an email from Anne tonight letting me know that my birthday gifts for her have arrived safely - whew! Always worry when they travel so far! This was a first for me - I made her a little needlework kit out of an Altoid tin. I put magnets inside on the top and bottom (Mike has magnetic business cards, boy did they come in handy here!) and put needles in the top and a wee pair of scissors in the bottom (***Joann's sells their own line of scissors and they fit nicely into an Altoid tin). Anne seems to be thrilled with my effort, and see her blog for a better photo - it looks a bit wonky here (which surprised me) but looks right in her photo :-)

And, here is a scan of that Virginia's Purse by The Cat's Whiskers that I have been raving about in the new (April 2007) issue of Just Cross Stitch - now, isn't this a beauty??!!

Your giftie to Anne looks lovely - you made a great job of the tin topper :)
Good heavens, Carol, if I were Anne, I'd be doing cartwheels all over the house! That's a gorgeous design and perfect finishing!!
Your gift for Anne is lovely!!!
I love the tin topper you have made Anne, aren't you getting very clever now :-) You have done it brilliantly!!
LOVELY tin Carol :) and all the extras you sent were just so nice of you..she's so deserving!
I love the little purse in the JCS mag too...but I've put it on hold...I'm trying to work out a rotation of sorts...any help from your side on how you do it?
Stay warm! It's headed your way (the weather....we're in the middle of it RIGHT NOW!)
:)
I'm VERY tempted by the stash! I keep promising myself that I'll try some dyed fabric.......but I'm being strong for a change, lol.
When you get a moment, email your address to send the pif to, please :)
Its lovely your tin topper, I bet Anne is delighted.
Your gift turned out great! And thank you for sending me the pick of the purse, I may have to have that one as well!
I love the Altoid tin you made for Ann. The top is so cute. And I hadn't seen that purse design before. I must out and hunt down that magazine.
That's a lovely tin you stitched for Anne!! :)
Anne is definitely doing cartwheels around the house - I adore my little tin topper!! :D BTW, if the 'In the Clouds' Lugana hasn't gone already, I'd love to buy that from you, as I have some birdie charts that would be beautiful on it ... I'll send you a separate email soon! :D
Oh Carol the little sewing tin is just sooooooooooo cute!! What a nice job you did as well!! I bet Anne just loves it!! Debby :)
Your gift for Anne is another triumph, Carol! And you're right, it doesn't even LOOK like a fob :o) Great progress on HoHRH too. I'm picking up the Village again tomorrow!
Your tin topper for Anne is absolutely amazing - I LOVE IT!!!!
Love the tin and I did see that Anne loved it too. I have a bunch saved, just need to use a few of them.
The tin is adorable! Great job. :)
Your HOHRH is looking fantastic. You are really making good progress on it. I love the tin you made for Anne. When I was beading my wedding purse, I would carry an Altoid tin with my beads in it, my beading needle, nymo thread, and my scissors. It all fit perfectly!
Very nice tin topper, Carol :)
WOW, HoHRH is moving along!
Will be in contact with you tonight :)
BTW-are you having as much trouble with blogger as I am??? Are you still having to sign in each time??
I love your tin for Anne! It's gorgeous :) What a great present :)
Beautiful work on the tin Carol! It's so cute!
Thank you for showing the pic of the purse. I am a subscriber to JCS but it comes on the slow boat and I often don't get it till 3 months after it's issue. Case in point - I actually got the January issue before the November/December issue! Now I have something to look forward too!
What a cute finish for the tin - I've never done one, but I love yours!
The tin is beautiful!!! And you HoHRH is looking great!
I just saw your tin topper on Anne's blog - great job!
Your tin topper is brilliant, Carol! I have made a few - loved making them. :D
I would love that Stonehedge fabric but I don't have paypal anymore (people hacked into my account).
