It's another Paradigm Lost Tuesday, and Jo and I are still stitching away on this sampler. Tonight I stitched the strange bird that is just about right in the middle of the sampler. I have to admit, this is the one motif that I have always been skeptical about on this sampler. Well, it's not like it is an attractive bird. But, after spending much of the evening stitching away on the little guy, I have developed a little fondness for him. He does look a bit better in real life than in the picture on the chart. He is still strange, though...
I heard from
Kathy today that she received the little gift that I made for her birthday. It arrived in the UK quite quickly, but I told her to please go ahead and open it up even though it is not her birthday yet. I am so happy she was thrilled with it!
Ole' Fob Papillon Creations40 ct Lambswool LinenDMC Color Variations - Midsummer Night and Monet's GardenStitched 1/21/07 - 1/26/07**********************************************Good news regarding Angus! I weighed him before bed last night, and he is up to 6.1 pounds. This is a good gain from his 5.4 post-surgical weight! Our digital postal scale is quite trustworthy, so I am hoping the new weight is fairly accurate :-)
*************************************************************Anyone still interested in a Neighborhood Round Robin, due to start in July?? If so, please let me know. I could use a couple more stitchers - thanks!

****PS - how strange - my posts for the last three nights have all been at 11:19 PM - what are the odds??

I like the 'strange' bird. It looks like he's showing off his feathers, trying to attract a mate! It is a beautiful sampler.
Your sampler is very beautiful, I like it !
Hooray for Angus! Well done, all of you!
As for the bird: as soon as I saw it I thought phoenix. Now I don't know what a phoenix is supposed to look like, but I think it should be something like this. I like him. (I've decided also that it's a he).
Brilliant news about Angus you have all done so well!!
I like your bird and the sampler is coming along so much now...it will be a stunner :-)
I think the bird is a phoenix (which might account for it's "oddity". There is a fabulous french blog that publishes a sampler motif each week and their phoenix is virtually identical (theirs faces the other way) A phoenix symbolises hope.
Love the fob! You do such lovely finishes!
Carol,
This sampler is looking so beautiful!!!! I think the phoenix looks great as well!!
Great news about Angus!!!!
Thanks for sharing all this, Carol, and it's a beautiful gift that you made. Ann.
I like that bird! Seb would adore it, that is totally his style.
I am so glad for Angus. Give him a hug for me :)
I love the colors in the fob...very pretty!
Your Paradigm Lost is looking wonderful...I sort of like the bird :)
Gorgeous fob. I like the bird :)
One of these day's I'm going to stitch PL and I can only hope it turns out as wonderful as yours. I love seeing it's progress.
The pic of the fob isn't showing for me though :(
I bet it's lovely though!
The fob you made is just gorgeous and PL looks amazing!
Your PL is looking wonderful! The little bird reminds me of a little boy flexing his muscles, and growling! LOL
Great news about Angus...
Can you give me some info on the RR?
The little bird to me looks like he's trying to flex his muscles. :) I"m glad to hear about Angus. Thanks for the update.

I might be interested in the round robin. How many stitchers? Mail dates? You can send the particulars to me here
PL looks fantabulous! I love the bird...he looks like he is showing off his muscles:)
Yeah Angus for gaining some weight! He is a little guy as it is.
That is a strange bird-like Annemarie I thought Phoenix. But, after a closer look I am not so sure. The scissor fob is gorgeous as always!

Your PL is just fabulous! I still can't get over your progress on all your HUGE projects...plus all the sweet little gifts you send everyone...Your like a 'lil angel on earth Carol :)
Paradigm Lost is really looking great!! It is so amazing how much stitching you get done! I am also very happy to hear that Angus is doing better too!! Debby :)
I love the bird, which I'm guessing is either a phoenix or a stylized eagle. He's awesome.
It's great to hear that Angus is literally gaining. Hooray!!
And that fob you made is beautiful. What a sweetie you are!! :)
Great newws about Angus. Your fob is so sweet what a lovely gift to send.
Spooky about your 11:19's
It's good to read that Angus is better. :-) Ann.
Oh, I just ran into your "bird" on the website "anne les petites croix", well actually it's mirrored, but it is exactly the same design and it's a phoenix. :-) Ann.
Carol, I'd be interested in a neighborhood RR. Let me know if you need more people

I like the bird, he looks like a phoenix to me, too. :) I'm so glad that Angus is gaining an appreciable amount of weight. I really like the scissors fob that you made for Kathy, too.
The strange bird looks very fine right there in he middle of your sampler!
I like the "strange bird," too! He's very unique :) I'm glad Angus is feeling better finally! I'm still interested in the RR :)
I look forward to seeing your update on PL every week Carol, its looking stunning!
and another beautiful fob, you are the Queen of fobs thats for sure :)
Your PL is beautiful - and the bird looks like he is doing a Happy Dance! Also like your FOB gift - you are so nice to make these wonderful gifts!
That bird is a little strange, but I kind of like him. :) The fob is cute too!
I think the bird is very cute! Your piece is stunning!
Your fob is adorable, and in my favorite colors too. I haven't seen the DMC variations yet, or used them, I'll have to check them out. I really like varigated threads as I get fun color changes without having to change the floss all the time.
As to your strange little bird, I like him. He looks like what I think a Phonix rising from the ashes might, stretching and shaking himself after his transformation.
Glad Angus is doing better, the weight gain certainly seems a good sign.
Sue
Yay, go Angus - glad to hear he's gaining weight and getting back to normal again. Have to say I really love your strange little bird ... it's very cute to me :) And the fob you made for Kathy, what can I say? I now have to buy a new keyboard, as it's covered from head to toe in some serious drool! ;) Seriously, it's a real stunner!! :D
