With the start of a new month, there is also the start of a brand new SAL. This one is Just Nan's Barnabee's Quest, and if I remember correctly the participants are Michelle, Jenna, Leslie, Nicole and Andrea :-) Here is bands 1-3, plus some of the outer border. Nan's instructions say to stitch the outer border first. However, I could not find any technical reason why this was necessary. I started with the specialty stitch band at the top instead and eventually added in some of the border. I thought just doing the border for a while might get boring - but it turns out that this border is quick and easy, not boring anyhow. Also, I noticed after the fact that Nan says not to cross the quarter stitches atop the beeskep. I crossed mine. I didn't care for how they looked uncrossed - they just looked "wrong" to me. It was hard to put this one down tonight. Nan's samplers are always such fun to stitch. It was also great to start a project that has been in my stash for a long time now... 2001. I won't be able to stick to doing this one on Thursdays, though. I have another SAL starting tomorrow and will be doing that one Thursdays as of next week. I don't know if any of the ladies in this SAL want to join me in stitching this on another day - I have Monday and Friday open.

OMG- I love what you just posted! i am a total bee hive/ bee's keep lover. If you manage I would love to have one on my RR. That aside, the colors are also gorgeous.
That's a pretty start Carol! I love the blue flower band under the beeskep.
Wow, Carol, you've had smokin' needles!! I can't believe how much you managed to stitch in January. Have you given up sleep? LOL
Great start on Barnabee's Quest. This one is super-cute.
Carol,
I started Dawn! But I've not taken a picture yet. I hope to post it in the next days. Can't wait to see your progress.
I adore this design - I'm gonna love watching you all stitch this one :) And I'm glad you're happy my Bordeaux needle has slowed up somewhat haha - won't be long before we're at the same point :)
You did loads this month! Congratulations. Ann.
Wow, this is gorgeous Carol, what fun it'll be to follow your progress!
Special (((hugs))) to you!
Well that is a lovely start! And you go girl on those January goals and go again with the February ones! I just cannot get over the amount of stitching you get done and I'm green with envy....LOL!
I love all Just Nan designs, especially Barnabee's Quest. You are making major progress. I love Ackworth Samplers too. We will be stocking them later this month. Thought you might like to know. VBG.

You made some great starting progress on this Carol. I just love the colors in it. Makes me think of Spring.
What a great start, Carol! I've never stitched anything Just Nan-ny, but after having seen this, I migt have to mend my ways...
Your Barnabee start is looking so good, I want to pull out mine and start it too! Can't believe that it's been 6 years since they released it. I'm looking forward to more updates.
Congratulations on Januarys achievements and good luck with Februarys.
Love your new SAL. I have a real soft spot for JN designs especially ones with bees on.
Beautiful start on Barnabee!! I had such a fun time with it last night:) I am not comitted to any one night on this one. I can shift it to another night if you would like some company:)
oooh, lovely start, Carol :)
(((hugs)))
Enjoy your weekend my friend!
Love Barnabee's Quest! I started Lady Scarlet's Journey last night ... and am using Thursday as my Just Nan Day :) I'll be adding Barnabee's Quest to that day in a few weeks *lol* There's just too much to stitch and not enough time!!!
A new SAL ... hmmmm oh no ... here I go again!
Thanks for the inspiration!
~*~ Happy Stitching ~*~
Beautiful start! I must be such a slow stitcher, I didn't get nearly that much done. If you'd like to switch to Fridays, I can do that. You did really well on your January goals too - congrats!
Great start to the BQ SAL.
I have no problem with switching to either a Monday or a Friday - for me personally I would still stitch only the 1 day). It might be nice to look forward to it at the end of the working week!
Take care. x
Lovely start on your JNan. I'm not quite sure what changes you made; however, it all looks great in this photo. You have quite a list for February...good luck with it.
Enjoy the week-end
You have got a great start. This is such a pretty design, I've been drooling over it. I look forward to seeing your progress :D
Wonderful start! I couldn't get started on Barnabee last night but I plan to actually start it tonight. Thursdays in general aren't a great stitching night for me so I will probably pick Monday nights for Barnabee and focus on Peaceful Silhouette most other nights. I can't wait to start tonight now - just have to get through work!
Wow, looking at your goals you are going to be very busy. Barnaby's quest will be lovely, and you got a great start. I've seen the pattern and really like it so will enjoy watching your progress. I also like JN's patterns and have several in my stash. I'm almost done doing Creativity with my DSIL as a round robin between the two of us.
Sue
You always accomplish so much and I just love seeing all your progress on things Carol :) It's really motivating :)
Blessings to you and yours (furkids included)
Great start Carol, I've always admired this sampler and can't wait to see your progress on it!
