Changed my blog name....

I've never cared much for the very generic title of my blog - Carol's Stitching Blog. Today it came to me to rename it Carol's Stitching Garden, since I post so much about my garden as well.... (and, I suppose, because I stitch a lot of gardens, and flower fairies, and birds.... and all such related garden stuff!!).
I have been really looking forward to my night to work on Convent's Herbal Garden again. I made some changes in my rotation schedule so that I can stitch this one on Friday nights now. I have been at it all night.... wow, there are a lot of color changes in that upper right area garden that I stitched tonight. I still have most of the rice stitches to do in it.... I love how this is turning out! (Hmmmm... crooked in my scanner once again!! Didn't look that way when I put it in!!)
Here is the adorable flat fold that Becky sent to me this week. I just adore it!!! I decided to post it, although she said I didn't "have" to, but I want to!! Isn't she just wonderful??!!

After thinking about this for a while, I have decided that instead of starting a new project to bring to work as my "at work" project, I am going to start bringing 17th Century Irish Garden to work now. I adore this project and it is very fun to stitch, but for a while now it has not had a comfortable place in my rotation.... and since it is easily held in hand, it has occurred to me that it is actually the perfect project to bring to work :-) So, another August Stitching Goal is out the window already (I had originally planned to bring House Samplings to work - I am sure I will soon, though).

Red Sox 9, White Sox 8 - as always, there is tons of drama!! Two home runs by Big Papi, and one by Jason Varitek.... Johnny Damon extended his hitting streak to 15 straight games... yet Curt Schilling gives up two home runs to the White Sox in the ninth inning, coming awfully close to blowing the save... Drama!!
Hee, hee - it is after midnight, and this is how I just found Beau :-) Sweet dreams, Beaudie! (Little nickname for him).

Stitched on today: Convent's Herbal Garden

Oops! I totally forgot the Patriots had a pre-season game tonight! I was wrapped up in baseball and stitching - what else is new??!! But I just saw on their website that they beat the Cincinnati Bengals 23-13.... here is one of my favorites, Corey Dillon from tonight's game (photo is from the NE Patriots website):

First of all, who put out the 17th Century Irish Garden? It looks beautiful!

In reply to your comment: 1: Maybe the birds are distant cousins.. :)seriously though, looked up bird pics, might be ringed plover or from the tit-family, their cute whatever they are.
2:Alan Rickman is a British Actor who is currently best known for his role as Snape in the Harry Potter movies. He's also been in: Love Actually, Robin Hood:Prince of Thieves, The Search for John Gissing, Blow Dry, Galaxy Quest, Dogma, Dark Harbor, Sense and Sensiblity and a few others. I haven't seen all the above, just added them not knowing exactly your taste in movies. :)

What a lovely surprise on coming to your blog and discovering the new name - how apt!

Irish Garden is coming along marvellously...

Becky's present is adorable.

And Beau should make a great companion to Violette - this is her favourite sleeping posture! LOL!

As always, I'm spoiled with lovely surprises on reading your blog :o)

Great new name! I've changed you in my blogroll.

Mmm, your rotation. I can never work out what you're going to be stitching on next. How do you keep up with it and how did your rotation evolve?
