Time for some mermaids...

I realized today that I really missed working on Mermaids of the Deep Blue and with being active in the Mirabilia SAL, so I put Medieval Town Mandala aside for the day and worked on my mermaids instead. I am glad that I did. There are lots of days left in January to get Medieval Town Mandala Part 4 finished anyhow :-) My rotation is all messed up right now, and I will rethink it a little... but will keep my Tuesday and Wednesday SAL nights just as they are!

Here is something a little bit hopeful! Although, I have to admit that I am also quite skeptical. Instead of receiving the March issue of Stitcher's World today, I received Cross-Stitch & Needlework, which claims to be the return of the old beloved Cross Stitch & Country Crafts. This was very exciting to me.... except when I looked inside the magazine, it still looks like Stitcher's World on the inside... nothing too spectacular at all. Maybe it will get better, but I am not so sure that it will. Just taking the old name does not mean it will be the old magazine. At least, they are not off to a great start with it. Better Homes & Gardens used to run the old CS&CC, which later became CSN, but now they do not appear to be involved any longer. Hmmmm.... skepticism....

Some great news today! I noticed that Jeannette Douglas is going to be teaching at Celebrations this year! Yaaaaaaay!! I am definitely going to have to budget the money to take one of her classes, for sure!

Well, the Patriots did not win tonight. I am actually feeling a bit relieved. I was disappointed that they lost to the Denver Broncos due to so many turnovers that they committed on their own.... But the relief is that it is soooo hard to continually be champs and to have to withhold that status is tough. Next year will go well for them - it is someone else's turn this year :-)

Stitched on today: Mermaids of the Deep Blue

***Anyone else sick of the Brad/Angelina (or Brangelina) news??? I am a Jennifer Aniston fan. This whole to-do is annoying to me! Can't stand either of these two.

Still adore watching your progress with MTM - and your Mermaids look stunning on that fabric :) Have to admit, I'm over the whole 'Pitt' thing - I'm not really into celebrity 'anything' ;)

I love the mermaids and watching your progress :-)

I'm also a Jennifer fan and I've never quite gotten the fascination with Brad Pitt. Sure,he's cute and all but so not my type.. I try to ignore the news about Brad and Angelina although that is kinda hard, they're always in the news..

Hi, Carol, your projects are coming along beautifully! I am starting my MIX today - I have been indecisive about fabric; and finally decided to go with the same fabric I used on the other Mysteries.

I made my reservations for Celebrations - would love to see you that weekend. Margaret in Maryland

Sorry that the Pats lost. I like both teams so didn't root for either one.
Like your progress on the mermaid.
I am also soooo sick of Angelina and Brad. Dh and I think she is one of the ugliest women except when she has her makeup all on. But without it, yuck! What they did to Jennifer was just horrible and I am sure she is devastated by the news. I am about as sick of them as I am with Tom and Katie. Are we sure Michale Jackson hasn't done anything in awhile to take away the publicity of these people LOLOL.

Great progress on your mermaids, Carol! Do let us know what you think of the new mag in upcoming issues - I loved the old CS&CC so if it is close I might be interested. Of course, if it is anything like the original CS&N, no thanks! lol!

I am not so sick of the celebrity dramas, but I do with they would stop melding names!!! Brangelina? ROFL!

Mermaids is looking so nice on the fabric you picked Carol! I think I might have to work on mine today too. I'll have to see what calls to me when I sit down to stitch today.

Yeah I'm sick of the whole "Pitt" thing (as Anne already said :)). Hopefully someone one else will take their place soon and we can have a break of them.

Mermaids of the Deep just looks SO lovely on the fabric that you chose. You have a great eye for colors, so maybe next time I need to choose a fabric for a project, you can help me? :)

Sorry the Patriots lost, but you're right, that is an awful lot of pressure to have on them and with the injuries and problems they've had this year, they can afford to let someone else have it because they'll probably take it back next year. ;)

Oh, and Brangelina? Puh-lease. Give it a rest already. I also like Jennifer Aniston and this has to be hard on her having it shoved down her throat so much. I think Brad was ready for a family NOW and it looks like he's gotten it nearly instantaneously. And what is up with all of these celebrity couples conceiving out of wedlock? I mean, really, what is the deal with that? Like marriage is a much tougher commitment to make than bringing a child into the world?!?!? Sorry, I'll step off my soapbox, but it just frustrates me that all of these celebs are setting this example for our impressionable youth...

Sorry for the diatribe!

The mermaid is really nice on that fabric. I also agree about the magazine it has to be more than a name change to keep it going.
