A somber anniversary

The world celebrates a very somber anniversary today... and there are no words... still...
Tonight was SAL night for An Emblem of Love. I just love stitching on this sampler! Tonight I was able to finish filling in the birds and oak leaves on the second medallion. Love it :-)
Now, this is really something. I received my FOTM from Silkweaver today. My option is fat quarters of belfast from their Expressions line. Today I received Mountain Rose (on the right in the photo). I knew I already had some Mountain Rose belfast from one of their Christmas packages (or some package like that), but this looked different. So, I went upstairs to my fabric box and found it - it is the one on the left in the photo. Wow, what a huge difference! I guess differences are surely expected with hand dyeds, but this is an amazing difference. They don't look at all similar, even though both are Mountain Rose Belfast linen. So, if you were to order Mountain Rose Belfast Linen from the website, which of these would you receive? I like them both very much, though.

That is a total difference. I've experienced this with some of the GAST fibers - the colors may have the same name, but they are not even remotely the same color. I like the darker mountain rose, by the way, though they are both very pretty.

Hmm, that's odd. But fun, nonetheless. EOL is beautiful Carol.

Wow, one of those looks pink and the other looks purple... that is very weird. I think they are both very pretty though!

Emblem Of Love is so delicate looking, I love that. Love both of the Mountain Rose fabrics :).

And yes, yesterday was somber day for our country.

I am really enjoying following yours and Karen's progress on this, Carol!
And there's indeed a huge difference between the two FQs. Both are gorgeous - I do tend to prefer the more muted tones, so the one to the left wins my preference ;)

I have Mountain Rose too. I'm fairly certain mine is linen, but I'm not sure what count. I think mine is somewhere in the middle of those two. Isn't that funny? Oh well, I guess that makes each piece more unique.

Lovely work on your stitch-along piece! And what a surprising difference in the two fabrics - they look like completely different colours.

Wow, those are 2 completely different colors, I wonder which one you would get. I love them both though. Purple is such a lovely color. I find it soothing. Except for the awful purples in my upstairs bathroom. Along with the beige sink and toilet, it's more than I can handle. :D EOL looks so pretty, it is coming along wonderfully. Ann.

Wow! That is crazy! I think I am partial to the darker one though...both are gorgeous. Emblem of Love looks amazing, you are stitching up a storm!

I've had the same experience with their Wandering Ivy. I've got two pieces - same fabric, same count, the only difference is that one is an opalescent....but in colour they look so completely different you would never guess it was the same one!

Both are lovely, but what a difference!! Variety is the spice of life, lol!

EOL is such a sweet design. :)
