I stitched one of the sets of stairs on the border of Mystery IX. You can see it on the right side of the sampler. It is very pastel. Martina is incorporating a lot of pink in the outer border. I started some of the rest of the border on the right side above the stairs... there will be a lot of Pebbles Waterlilies and Rose Gold Petite Treasure Braid in that part. I like that she added in the pink. It balances off that yellow in the mid section of the design, and makes the sundial blend in a lot better - LOL. I really didn't get as much done as I wanted to, though. I spent most of the afternoon stitching another gift - I get really wrapped up in my gifts.
I have to confess to another addiction. I have become totally addicted to going to craft stores in the area to seek out beads, charms, ribbons, cords, fabrics, etc to use to finish gifts... sigh... another addiction! Of course, I have that Gingher addiction that is growing now too... double sigh.
We went out and got our Christmas tree today :-) No pics yet - Mike put the lights on it, but it is not really decorated yet.
Happy Birthday Aunt Bev!!Stitched on today: Started and finished a gift, and
Mystery IX

Hi Carol! It's fun to see that stitching's auxiliary addictions have grabbed a hold on you, lol!
You can never have too many stitching-related addictions! ;)
Mystery IX looks great, I absolutely love the sundial!
Mystery IX just gets better and better (did I say that yesterday? sorry).
I know what you mean about the little finishing touches - it's fun to look around for that perfect something to finish a piece off.
Those stairs really look great, it's like know you can imagine strolling through the garden :)
I'm happy to see another person with addictions! LOL! I have 3 bead boxes FULL of Mill Hill and Button embellishments. Plus NOW is the time to get the twisted cording...well in a few weeks actually, because you can get it for 1/2 off or more...it does up lovely hand stitched on ornies and such! Just thought I'd help enable you a little more :D
Mystery IX looks amazing! And I love the sundial in the centre.
Yes these craft addictions can really get out of hand, but they are so much fun! Give me a craft store over a major department store any day.
Mystery IX is incredibly beautiful Carol. I love the sundial.
M9 is looking fantastic. I love the sundial too! Glad to hear you are feeling better. Your fobs are just the cutest things.
What a great addition to Mystery IX!
I know all about that finishing addiction, Carol ;) it's so much fun! :)
I got your package today... Thank you! :) :) Can't wait to start that stocking... Have to save up for the fibers now - those are expensive! but it seems really worth it :) Thanks for the fabric and pattern! (((hugs)))
Hiya Carol
Mystery IX is just gorgeous! Those little steps look so pretty. :o)
MIX looking gorgeous Carol and you can't have too many stitching related addictions LOL!
LOL Carol, another addiction huh? but one that is so much fun!
You are progressing fast! And the reward is so great when you get those stitched projects in a finished form. I understand that you want to seek for all kinds of ornamentation now...better than having those finished stitched objects laying down in a drawer huh? Have fun with all this and thanks for sharing. Ann.
I think that about everyone has already joined a pay it forward project among stitchers...but how about starting a "pay it forward" where stitchers who comment on the blog would commit to stitching for example 3 squares for charity projects of their choice? Wouldn't that give a boost to organisations who put up quilts and blankies to those in need (children with cancer, etc...)? what do you think?
I love watching your mystery unfold, it's beautiful and inspiring - I'm very close to signing up for MX. But do I need another BAP?? LOL!
Oooh, that looks interesting!
I know when I stitched Alpine the border started looking very bright but when it was done it set the rest off perfectly. Martina has a great eye for colour :)
Every time I check you've made more headway, mystery is looking great.
Sue
Ohhh I am really liking those stairs.
It really is fun to troll around craft stores for all that stuff isn't it. I love fabric shops:)
Carol, Mystery is looking beautiful as ever. It *is* way too easy to get addicted to fun crafty things. For me it's color that sucks me in. :)
You are too funny ... welcome to the finisher's world ;) I had to buy some Ikea drawers earlier in the year for that same reason - somewhere to hold the ribbons etc that keep accumulating LOL. Can't wait to see your next finishing all unveiled :D
