The sky is black

And there it is, I finished House 6 and the sky is black :-) Then I moved on to start a little of House 10 too. Not a whole lot of stitching time. Other pressing matters took priority today :-) Just a little stitching here and there for me today. But I am glad that sky is finished. Nancy, I am using the called for Lakeside Linens 40 ct Pearled Barley for mine (and one of Vikki Clayton's earliest silk conversions, which is on the pastel side, but I am so happy with it).

I am looking for a chart, and am really hoping that this massive online community may be able to help me? I have been looking for the very longest time now for a chart by Brightneedle called Lo, How a Rose. It is in an OOP magazine that is called something like "BH&G A Cross Stitch Christmas: Celebrations in Stitches (2001)" - I have searched for this using exactly this title and variations that seemed to fit with just no luck. I would be happy to buy it or borrow it from you if you have it - I will also trade... whatever it takes really.... can anyone help me? I would be so very appreciative. Thank you :-)

NH Primary Results - Democrats: Clinton and Republicans: McCain - Hmmm...... not what I would have predicted in this State.

After days of 4F weather, today was 68F driving home from work (to vote!!). Amazing jump, and we shall all enjoy it while it lasts just a little longer. Winter is still here, no delusions - LOL!

Stitched on today: Stitched on Winter Quaker Exchange, and Houses of Hawk Run Hollow **Mailed out Stitcher's Lottery prize to Hazel today

Congrats on the mini finish!

Have you checked with libraries? I know mine has or had some BH&G needlework magazines but I don't see that one in their online catalog. LMK if you don't hear back from anyone, I can check in person next week.

Hi Carol!
I sent you an email about the BH&G book. Hope it helps. Great progress on you HHRH

Is that like a Christmas edition magazine? I know I have a couple of those magazines, but not sure what years. I will delve into my stitching room/stash and see if I have it.

Just checked my stash. I have BHG Cross-Stitch Christmas 2001, but it must not be the right one. The one you are looking for is not in this one. Sorry.

Carol, I know you are glad to be finished with this sky! Congrats on completing it! Try Andrea over at Deep Fried Cupcake-she is stitching the Brightneedle piece you are looking for. Maybe she can help.

I sent you a couple e-mails with some info on the book you're looking for...there is a listing on eBay, plus there are some private sellers on Amazon that have it. Hope this helps!

Great progress on HoHRH, that sky must've been tricky.

Sorry no leads on the chart you're after, it's lovely though, hope you get it so we can see you stitch it up :)

I'm hot on the trail of issue book also, Carol. Right now Herrschner's US is offering 3 hardcover Christmas books for $10.00 plus shipping. Before Christmas they were selling for $6.00 a piece. Our "Rose" pattern isn't in one of them but the books are great and very well worth the money. Here at the Herrschner's store in Ontario they have three different ones and they are selling for $6.00 ea. Maria S.

Your village is "growing" well Carol.

Hope you find the chart you're looking for, it's very pretty, sadly I can't help.

I've just checked my books and magazines and I don't have that one--I do think it's a hardcover book you're looking for as I have the Cross Stitch Cristmas mags...I have some of the older BH&G Cristmas cross stitch books and they're all titled similarily. Have you tried half.com or abebooks?

I just sent you an email, hope you can check it right away :)

You picked a hard chart to find! I don't have it either, but I can see why you're looking for it! Good luck!

HOHRH looks great!

Thanks for the HILARIOUS card for Arden. Niek almost choked when he read it because Arden is infamous for giving his Daddy a shower during changes! LOL!!

I have seen that book on eBay in the past. I want to do that piece myself but I have not purchased it yet. Your Houses are looking great! I think I'm going to start mine this weekend. :-)

Oh, well done on house 6, that must've seemed like an endless task stitching all that black!

Happy New Year to you and Mike (and the kitties!)

I am 75% sure I have this. And I would be happy to lend it to you. Right now it is packed in a box in the basement, so I wouldn't miss it--at least temporarily. Then when you are done with it, and I am visiting family in NH, I will finally get to meet you when I pick it up! (Ulterior motives?)

I love your stitching and your current project. I too have that pattern and it is in my to do pile someday.

What are you going to stitch on next?

I have a blog too if you want to add me to your blog list on your blog.

Sorry I don't have that Magazine that you are wanting. I got some of them but that is one of them that I don't have. If I did I would let you just have it.

Take care & Happy Stitching

Congratulations on finishing the block, it looks great. While it is such a neat looking one, it must be a nice feeling to finally be able to move onto a different one (and use something other than the black).

All the exchanges pieces in your recent posts, given and received, have been lovely, and such fun additional items were in the exchange packages.

I have some of those BH&G Christmas issues. I'll check my stash and see if one of them contains that pattern.
You must be happy to be finished with all that black on House 6. It looks great!

Hi Carol: I have 2 hard cover BH&G books; however, not that one. Sorry

Congrats on finishing the block - it is beautiful, and with that black sky is probably the most time-consuming one. Hope you find your Brightneedle pattern - it's a beauty, I'd love to stitch it.
